Lifestyle - The family edit
I love photographing in the great outdoors where children are free to explore and roam. This gives me the ideal opportunity to create natural photographs that reflect your family’s personality. For babies I have some very simple props to keep them warm and able to lie comfortably and un aided on the ground. I’m happy to meet in your choice of location or I can recommend some wonderful locations in the Oxfordshire area depending on the time of year.
If you’d prefer, I’m more than happy to meet you in your home, particularly in those early days after having a baby when leaving the house can be overwhelming or in the colder months of the year.
I allow between 1-2 hours for your photoshoot. I love getting to know your children and depending on age play some silly games to help them relax and create natural expressions.
Before your photoshoot I will offer you a telephone consultation to discuss clothing and any ideas you may have so you are all prepped up and raring to go!
If we are planning an outdoor session I will check the weather forecast the day before. The session will still go ahead even if it’s cloudy (this is actually the easiest weather to photograph as the clouds act as a nice soft box over the sun.) If it looks like it’s going to be a wash out I can either meet you in your home or we can reschedule!
After our shoot I will return to my studio to start editing the photographs. The images usually take around a week to edit. You will receive a link to a password protected gallery once they are ready to view. Normally there will be around 70-80 to choose from and the gallery will be live for 2 weeks.
WHAT TO WEAR OUTDOORS
It’s really worth having a chat with me prior to your photoshoot so we can discuss the weather and the look you are wanting to create. It can be useful to keep a theme on the colours of your outfits for example, in autumn, jumpers, jeans and wellies look great – particularly if you are an outdoor family!
In spring and summer muted colours are wonderful or white t-shirts and blouses. Dresses are always welcome particularly on mummy although please think about the temperature, sitting down and walking across meadows and fields – remember you might need some sturdy footwear!
Please do not worry the most important thing is to keep it casual and the images to reflect your lifestyle and what you feel comfortable wearing!
